For financial advisors & special needs attorneys
Your client needs disability planning expertise. Sage gives you a structured starting point.
Special Needs Navigator's Professional Mode gives advisors and attorneys a way to think through SSI, DAC, Medicaid waiver, and trust questions — with the rigor your clients deserve and the honesty about limits that your license requires.
What Sage does in Professional Mode
Built for the complexity your clients bring you.
Most AI tools flatten disability planning into consumer-facing summaries. Professional Mode gives you a different experience — one that assumes you already know what SSI is, and goes deeper from there.
Benefit interaction analysis
SSI, DAC, Medicaid waiver, ABLE, and SNT rules — including how they interact across benefit types and state lines.
Proactive risk flags
Sage surfaces issues you didn't ask about — DAC eligibility checks, Medicaid pathway assumptions, trust structure risks.
Session summary export
Every session produces a downloadable .docx summary — structured for your file or your client's next appointment.
Escalation awareness
Sage knows when to stop. SSA appeals, ALJ hearings, complex trust administration — Sage flags the edge and names who to call.
How it works
A session takes about 30 minutes.
Choose your approach - Professional Mode opens with a choice: guided reasoning or direct answers. Either way, Sage assumes you already know the terminology and gets to the case question faster.
Work through the case - Give Sage the client situation and your question. Sage works through the relevant benefit rules, interaction risks, and planning sequence - including things that are easy to miss in a first client meeting. Web search is enabled; Sage can pull current SSA and CMS guidance.
Download the session summary - A full .docx export - formatted for your file, shareable with the client, or usable as a structured briefing before you engage an outside specialist.
Scope & limitations
What Sage is - and isn't.
Sage is a planning research assistant. These three things are true and worth knowing before you use it professionally.
Sage is a research and planning assistant — not a licensed financial advisor or attorney. It does not give legal or financial advice. It helps you think through complex questions with structured, sourced guidance.
Sage does not maintain a persistent client file. Each session is independent. Session summaries are yours to retain — Sage does not store client information between sessions.
Sage's knowledge has limits — and it says so. When a question exceeds its reliable scope, Sage flags it and identifies the appropriate next step: a WIPA counselor, a special needs attorney, an SSA field office contact.
Built on real expertise
Special Needs Navigator was built by Eric Jorgensen, CFP® — a retired Navy Chief and father of a son with an intellectual disability who spent a decade learning this system before building a tool to share it. Sage is built on his knowledge base, not a generic AI prompt.
