Our Commitment

Special Needs Navigator is committed to making both this website and our web application accessible to everyone — including people with disabilities. We believe access to disability planning information should never itself be a barrier.

Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time task. We are actively working toward conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA and review our content and platform regularly with that standard in mind.

About This Website

The Special Needs Navigator marketing site at specialneedsnavigator.us is built on Squarespace, which provides built-in support for keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, and responsive design across devices. We have made additional efforts to ensure content is clearly written, logically structured, and easy to navigate.

About the Sage Application

The Sage planning tool at app.specialneedsnavigator.us is a web-based application built on Next.js. Accessibility considerations in the application include:

  • Keyboard navigation support throughout the session flow

  • Voice input via the built-in microphone option, as an alternative to typing

  • Responsive layout for use on mobile and desktop devices

  • Readable session summaries available for download at the end of each session

We are conducting an accessibility audit of the application and will update this page as improvements are identified and implemented.

Known Limitations

We have not yet completed a formal WCAG 2.1 AA audit of the Sage application. While we have made accessibility a design priority, we cannot currently certify full conformance. If you encounter a barrier, we want to know about it.
